Emelia E. Richling
12th Grader at Northwest High School
Emelia is a Senior at Northwest High School. She is not only an outstanding student she also spends her free time volunteering and working. In her hobbies include reading, writing outside, playing piano, biking, teaching her pets new tricks, and photography.
She volunteers at the Stuhr Museum with summer classes, Hope Harbor organizing the food pantry and fundraising, Witt's Warrior she founded the event to raise Parkinson's awareness, Project Connect to help community members connect with area resources, and the Coin War she was the organizer of the event to raise funds for the Nebraska flood victims.
Her other activies include being a Freelance Writer since 2019, Student Body President from 2018-22, FBLA Co-President from 2018-22, Speech Co-Captain from 2018-21, Newspaper Editor-in-Chief from 2019-22, National Honor Society Co-President since 2019-22, Governor's Youth Advisory Executive Council Member from 2019-22, Math Team President and Founder from 2019-21, Amnesty International Student Activist Coordinator from 2020-22, Junior Class Treasurer from 2020-22, Youth Philanthropy Board from 2020-22, and Class Intercom Social Media Coordinator from 2021-22.
Along with her stellar activities included awards to go with it. She won the Borlaug Scholar in 2019, Academic All-State in 2020-21, Entertainment Review Writing State Champion in 2021, Nebraska State Journalism Finalist in 2021, Regional and District Original Oratory/Presuasive Speaking Champion in 2021, FBLA State Finalist from 2020-22, and Mock Trial Regional Champion from 2018-22.
